Steaming Vegetables
1. Prepare vegetables--wash, peel and or cut into evenly sized pieces.
2. Pour 1/2 - 1 cup of water or broth into cooker bowl.
3. Place steaming insert into bowl and fill with vegetables.
4. Place inner lid on inside rim of bowl and cover with snaptite locking lid.
5. Place in microwave oven and set power to high (600-800 watt). Compact and other low-watt microwave ovens may require longer cooking times than the directions below recommend. To assure thorough cooking, rotate steamer halfway through the cooking cycle. Microwave ovens with an automatic turntable will do this for you. Cooking times vary according to portion sizes.

8 oz. of brussel sprouts, cook for 5 minutes
14 oz. of cauliflower, cook 7 minutes
7 oz. of peas. cook 6 minutes
9 oz of carrots, cook 5 minutes
7 oz of potatoes, cook 4 minutes
10 oz. of sweet corn, cook 4 minutes
7 oz of spinach, cook 3 minutes
10 oz of broccoli, cook 5 minutes

6. After cooking cycle stops, allow steamer to remain in microwave for an extra 2-5 minutes. This time is necessary to finish the steaming process. Exercise care when removing the lid.

Popping Popcorn
1. Pour 1/2 cup* of popcorn kernels in the cooker bowl (nearly fill the depression in the bottom). Do not add any oil.
2. Place the popcorn lid on the cooker bowl.
3. Place popper in the microwave oven on high power setting for 5 minutes.*
4. Carefully remove from microwave at end of cooking time or when the popping stops, whichever occurs first.
7. Use oven mitts to remove lid as escaping steam can be very hot.

*Note: if you wish to pop less than 1/2 cup of kernels, reduce time accordingly.

For buttered popcorn: When adding the butter, reduce the microwave time by 1 minute. Remove from the microwave and add butter pas as desired into the butter department--the recessed top area of the corn pooper lid. Cover and continue to cook for 1 additional minute. Once out of the microwave, add salt if desired, and place lid back on cooker bowl. Shake for about 20 seconds until butter and salt are evenly mixed.

Hints
Popping performance may be influenced by the popcorn's moisture content, age of the popcorn, or the power and pattern of your microwave.
To avoid scorching, the microwave should be shut off as soon as popping has stopped or slightly before.
Do not use oil for popping corn in your popper.
Clean cooker bowl completely before popping another batch.
